Year in Painting: 2015
At the end of last year I did a summary of my year in painting, and I set some goals for myself for 2015. It is time to check and see how I did with my self imposed goals.
Here is what I had for my goals:
1.) Finish Landraider
2.) Finish Kroot
3.) Expand Traitor Guard
a.) Get a couple of leman russes
b.) Convert some flagellants
c.) Glotkin
4.) Set up a gaming table
Here is what I actually completed:
Landraider and Kroot
Chimera
Hellhound, Rogue Psyker, and 10 veterans
Palanquin of Nurgle and Plaguebearers of Nurgle
Tank Commander
Leman Russ
MORTARION!!!!
20 Zombies and a Wyvern
With regards to my gaming table:
Fatmat purchased
Terrain purchased
Goals for 2016:
GET AN ACTUAL TABLE, SO I CAN ACTUALLY PLAY GAMES AT HOME!
Put my terrain on bases and get it painted.
Finish my drop pod (this might happen by the end of the month)
Finish my blob of 20 guardsmen
Assemble and paint some rapier laser destroyers.
Assemble and paint another hellhound.
Other Updates:
As requested here is a shot of my recently purchased terrain with a marine, terminator, and dreadnaught for scale. The terminator is short enough to fit through the door, but his base is too wide.
Also, here is where I am at on my drop pod. I am hoping to get this done by the end of the year, but the holidays get crazy, and I am not sure how much painting time I am going to get.

Do you have any favorite tips and tricks or a favorite tutorial somewhere on the internet for painting buildings? I don't have much experience painting terrain, especially not wooden buildings like the ones you have. I always see people with such great looking stuff that it's hard to believe it's all made out of foam/wood. But I haven't found a guide I really loved yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried painting wood in a long time. When I get the chance I am going to start with a spray paint that has a bit of a texture. Most of the good buildings I have seen generally start there.
